Recently the water pressure in my shower reduced significantly.
I thought that maybe the local water company were working on the supply, and the pressure loss would rectify in time. But when it didn’t I began to imagine all sorts of issues.
Was my boiler on it’s way out? But it was new three years ago. Did I have a leak somewhere? Yet I fully renovated my house – including all pipework – less than a year ago. Maybe there was a leak outside? Maybe I’d get a water bill for thousands as my metered water poured away into the soil into the garden?
All major issues. And I had no clue.
Last week I asked for some financial information from a business that I am involved with. It was pretty important information which would influence some potentially major but necessary decisions that I had to make.
Given the importance I expected that my request would be treated urgently, yet after 24 hours I hadn’t received a response. I sent a chase up and that didn’t have any effect.
I started to wonder why I was being ignored. Was this deliberate? Was I being stalled? Was there something that was being hidden from me? Was there something seriously wrong?
I was starting to panic.
After several days of frantically running scenarios in my head I finally received a reply. The person I’d been emailing had been away for a week and had forgotten to put their “out of office” on! Here was the information. Panic over. And there was no decision to make – everything was fine!
Sometimes the reason for things is simple. Even the best systems can be prone to the odd blockage from time to time.
And when I finally decided to unscrew my shower head I found a small, blue washer that had come loose and partially blocked the flow!
